My Triops

I was amazed when I first saw that picture on mytriops.com

I have eggs of a species i'll be attempting to hatch soon, Triops australiensis, three-fingers what are your experiences with that species, I guess they are the same to hatch and keep as the others?
 
yeah one died wednesday night, and 2 more this morning :sad:

Yeah it's big aint it? See the triops article on that Russian site too? :lol:

T.australiensis
are like T.longicaudatus except they need a higher temperature (I always go for 27 celcius, but I doubt it needs to be that high), seem to grow much faster, have a slightly different shell shape and their colour is more pale (though that probably varies with water chemistry). I think they swam about more too, using more of the open water :good: .

T.cancriformis, the bigger the tank the bigger they seem to get. Another factor that makes them grow bigger is the night and day time temperature (you want a cool nigh temp or around 18 degrees celcius, and a high day time temp up to about 28 celcius. I wouldn't recommend the higher temps in a small tank though.
