Hey All,
I've been on vacation for two weeks. Before I left I posted about traveling with fish on the plane. So I decided to try it. At the lfs in Steamboat Springs, CO I found this very handsome and fiesty HM copper boy . He was too cute to pass up (I tried: I saw him on monday and left him but I ended up thinking about him for days and I came back and bought him on friday! )
It was so funny, I wanted my boyfriend to keep him because I was afraid to travel back to Cali with the fish. My boyfriend was totally not going for it. Until the fish came home....then every 5 seconds Tim (my BF) was running back into his room to see if the fish was happy. It was sooooo adorable. And when we woke up to a HUGE bubblenest the day after we got him, Tim was hilariously excited and told everyone in the house.
We both got attatched to the little guy and since I bought him, he came home with me. I double bagged him in ziploc bags (the other lfs wouldn't give up regular shipping bags because they swore that the fish would die if he traveled this way .) Tim filled the bag with air from the air compressor and then we loaded little Alfred into my back pack/purse. The guys at the airport were so curious, they called everyone around to look at him. They were talking him up about how gorgeous he was!
7 hours later little Alfred was in my room swimming happily in his new tank. Pics will be loaded later today. Just wanted to share his little story with you all!
