My Tanks...some Of Them Be Round!

There's a sad story behind the C Irrubescos...

I got two from my LFS and they suggested I 'try' the two males in my tank to see how they got on. In the car on the way home from the shop, where they'd both been put in the same bag, they were fighting so much that they bit a hole clean through both layers of bag and I had to hold the corner to stop the water draining out.
Got home, they seemed fine once in the heavily planted tank but the next morning one was almost dead and the other was flagging. Took them both back (one died on the way) and got another one, only to find he'd been bitten so badly in the LFS tank that he died too :(

I'll have more one day but make sure I deffo have several females and one male in a nice big tank. They were lovely fish too :(
The good thing was the LFS learned through me that they needed to bag each fish seperately if more than one male wasa being bought at the same time.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out. I would love to keep a pair of those one day when I have a big enough tank and space in the house. Well, at least your LFS learnt it the hard way so hopefully it won't happen again ;)

When I gave 2 of my baby DPs away, I bagged them separately to make sure they didn't get into a lethal fight in such small space even though they came from different tanks. Now hearing your story, I'm glad I did that :D Errrrr.....maybe DPs are not as bad but I felt better I did that

Better to be safe than sorry methinks :D

I've now decided all my puffs are girls...not a wrinkle in sight and no brown belly stripes either

His fans truly are so delicate and beautiful. He's just been through a moult and is all pale and ghostly still as opposed to this

Fantastic pictures, really enjoyed them...

The armoured shrimp you have is just like mine. I have had him for about 4 months now and last week he shed his skin for the first time.

He is doing really well but I have been considering getting a friend for him.

 that fish definately has "eyes bigger than his belly"
they are all fantastic photos been really nice looking at them

Actually it's quite the reverse these days  They a trio of fatty girls and one in particular has grown huge! I'd love to have a huge tank with loads of them in one day as they are so entertaining. That'll be after my dream mbu tank though

great pics.and too bad for your red eyed puffs.when i got my puffers in the same bag i used big bobby pins and seperated them each.

That's a good idea. My LFS now send puffers off in seperate bags as a result of what happened with my red eyes I'm pleased to say and they trebble bag too :good:

I've just set up my 8th tank and thought I'd share my excitement...

I'm upgrading the Dwarf Puffs tank to a nice 106L tank and getting a couple of boys to keep the girls company and hopefully hear the patter of tiny fins one day :good:

So, here it is...the boys are being picked up on Tuesday and I'll move them all into the new tank then...

I'll be moving some plants, the filter and decor over on Tuesday as well.

SO excited

I don't know what I'll do with the empty tank then...that'll be another challenge I guess
