My Tanks...some Of Them Be Round!

jennybugs, great great great tanks with wonderful fish. I was just thinking that the Arcadia tank and those Armoured Shrimp look very familiar. Do you go to the Aquatic Design Centre by anychance? And then you put photos up of the Giant Gourami....I work across the car park from CX and always try to walk through to have a look.

Quick question....what type of snails are those in with your male betta (1st photo)?

Hello Andypalf :D

I've been to the Aquatic Design Centre once or twice on my way home from work. Not sure why my tank and shrimps would look familiar though...got the shrimps from Wholesale Tropicals in Bethnal Green and the tank from Evilbay

The gourami are fantastic aren't they? Have you got any idea what the cichlids are in the tank? They've beenradually getting darker and darker as the year have gone by.

The snails I have in the 1st pic are...
a tiger nerite

and a spixi apple snail (not the best looking example in the world)

loving the dark tank with the blue light :good:
That's an early on shot of the 125L tank when I first got the blue moonlight LEDs :good:
That tank has really transformed as time's gone on.

This is what it looked like after I first set it up...

Well I thought they looked familiar as they sell a lot of Arcadia tanks (although I'm sure a lot of places also do). And it's the only place where I've seen Armoured Shrimp. The snails are fantastic. I'm hoping to get a couple nice large snails for my tank so I'm looking at my options.

I don't actually know what type of cichlids they are in the hospital tank. Cichlids are not my expertise, but i hope to change that in years to come. Although, I do know the fella that put that tank together. He doesn't get to maintain it sadly....I always bug him that the entire tank has a funny yellow tinge to it  but I love the plecs in there. Always cool to see such large fish having a good swim.

I love the tank and stop by every day to check them all out :D

Can you do me a favour and ask the talented person who made the tank about how many litres it holds? I'm itching to know  I know who feeds the fish and I think he does the maintenance of the filter etc. EVERY time I see him (yeah he REALLY loves me) I tell him the water's filthy and the filters need cleaning. He tried to tell me it was the wrong coloured lighting in the lamps above it that made the water look greeny

Did you see it when they did a big maintenance jobby and they forgot to turn the water off when refilling? Flooded the entire area

I'm hoping to expand my knowledge to cichlids soon. Rams to start off with :D

u know that giant gourami, that was my dads, we gave it to a women as it out grew are 6 ft tank 6 years ago, she had it in a 10 ft amd then donated it to the hospital a couple of weeks ago.

Hi jennybugs,
Just curious what fish you would suggest being kept in the 30L Biorb,
i currently have guppies but looking at getting a bioOrb, dont fancy gupies in this one....
what would you suggest...?

Oh fantastic! I was wondering where it'd come from :D I did a real good double take when I first saw it

Oooh where do I start? :D TBH any of the smaller fish are good...tetra (just remember some of them like the neons like to go into a mature tank), danios, some of the smaller/dwarf gourami, dwarf neon rainbowfish, guppys, platys that sort of thing :D

Woa!!!!

Nice pics! :good:

Great pics and some great tanks, you have alot of anubias's!
They're the only plants that truly do well in the biorbs with the lower levels of lighting  Or, to put it another way....they're the only ones I haven't managed to kill off yet :hyper:
