My Tank!

Just wanted to share my new tank with you knowledgeable people! Its been up and running since the start of December. I think its the best pressie my boyfriend has ever got me!! I'm obsessed now.

Please be kind and i know the photos are not great but I'm trying.

Its a Rekford 800 if anyone is interested

nice tank there a some nice fish too!
i like the big bush of elodea. you dont really see that plant anymore.
you do however have a non-aquatic plant on the right hand side there.

Thanks for the confirmation on the plant on the right!I was thinking that when i got it but not been too up on plants i thought sod it!
Its been in there for about 6 weeks and is going alright.. so when it dies i'll have to get something else. Any recommendations? I want something tall so it hides the filter a bit

a perfect substitute would be the lovely amazon sword.
easy to keep and looks great once its grown to a nice height and width
it also completely eliminates nitrate and CO2 levels because of the speed it grows

lol they only cost about 75p each!
buy some java fern while you're there too lol this is an ideal plant and will grow almost anywhere. you can play around with it and stick it to stuff

75p. I think i can stretch to that. But when ever i go to the fish shop i always end up coming out with more that i went in for so its going to have to wait till pay day

Thanks for the comments!! I really happy with the tank, its a rekord 800. picked it up at a bargin price at the lfs.

I can't believe how addictive this passtime is!!!! The tanks should come with warnings!!! My brother has started calling me the FA! and i also think the boyfriend is regreting getting it me as i'm always on here or looking a fish related things on the web!!

I've just started looking for another tank... any one got any recomendations for a smallish tank to keep a betta in? whats the smallest i can go with one without upsetting a betta?

Looks great, but why try to rehome the Betta? I've had bettas in larger (29gallon, 36gallon) aquariums and they did just fine

I'm not re homing the betta that i have at the moment, he seem to be more than happy in this tank except when i do a water change and he head butts my fingers. i want to get a new tank for my bedroom with another betta in there. My room isn't that big so i was just wondering what soort of size i could get.
