Here are a couple of pics of my tank and some of its inhabitants. I have 2 flying foxes and 1 is so huge, I didn't expect that he would get so big!

Are you sure that's a flying fox. It looks like a true SAE to me. Of course, I could be wrong.

SAE stands for Siamese Algae Eater, they look a lot like flying foxes, but are much less territorial, and one of the best algae eating fish in the hobby!

The picture that you have of the fish looks a lot like an SAE. I'm 99.99% sure its an SAE

Hi, thanks for this. I agree with you 100% that my "flying fox" is indeed an SAE. I really love this fish and now knowing more about it am really pleased that he could live for up to 10 years! Thanks again.

Yep it is a SAE, lovely tank plants are great! :good:

I also got 3 'Flying Foxes' a while back. They turned out to be SAE. They were just a real pain. At feeding time they went beserk. Charging around and upsetting all the other fish. I returned 2 of them to the LFS. The remaining one I have now is just great. Large and quite sedate now he has no competetion. He hides in my mango root and suddenly appears at grub-up........check out my signiture for picture
