I am so excited! My nitrites spiked like a week and a half ago and I just checked them now and they are 0!! So now I'm going to do water change and test it again tomorrow evening and if everything is still normal then I'm going to get my first fish this week! <><

^_^

I just got a yellow watchman goby. he is hiding.....but he'll adjust ina few days i guess. he's very cute! ^_^

OKay so like my goby is TERRIFIED of me. But he did eat today. I dropped a sinking pellet near his HIDING SPOT and he dove out to get it but saw me so spit it out and retreated. but then i left the room for a moment and when i came back, the food had been eaten! So thats good that he ate, right?

How long does it usually take shy fish to be unscared of new tanks/new caretakers?

glad to here u got fish :band: :drink: . my fish did that for a few days to, once they connect u with food they will not be afraid anymore. also if u feed them in the same spot for to long urs might just sim in that one spot like mine do. :band: :drink:

last night I read something about setting up for sand diggers..
said in the spot that you want them to dig (assuming you have sugar sized sand in the rest of the bed) add some rubble or shells. They use these to build the tunnel or give it structure rather.

Kristine,

It took my pyjama cardinal about a week or so to get used to the activity around the tank (it's on my desk at work). After that he was fine, but today he is back to skittish again as I had to do some work on the tank yesterday to fit a skimmer and it has upset him. I reckon a few days and he will be back to normal.

Wow Kristine! I'm so excited for you. Celebrations are in order. Tell the new guy to buck up - he's in it for the long haul :D What type of tank mates do you plan for him?

ALASKA :D

Well at first I wanted a flame angelfish. But now I am not so sure he's a good choice. Now I am thinking about getting a couple of Green Chromis fish, and perhaps a Lettuce Nudibranch but I am still researching and deciding if he is right or not.
