At present I have a 120L tank with a fluval 3plus filter and twin tube light with heater.

It contains
5 albino tiger barbs
5 normal tiger barbs
1 small plec 2"
1 1" apple snail

I plan to add a tiger, ruby and zebra nerite snails and an Ivory apple snail.

Anybody who grows too big (probably the plec) will move to the 260L tank downstairs.

Also what should I be feeding my tanks inhabitants at present they all seem happy but I think they all probably need a more specialised diet. They all eat nutrafin flake food at the moment.

Thanks

try feeding them bloodworms, daphina, tubifex or brine shrimps

Sounds good to me. The plec will certainly get too big, but enjoy him for a little while. You could even add a centerpiece fish to that setup, too. Like a pair of rams or something.

Why will it almost certainly get to big you dont even know what species it is.

How about a centerpiece fish? 260 Litres is quite a nice sized tank, most plecos bar sailfin and Common would thrive in a tank that size...

That is the downstairs tank the one i am talking about is the 120l tank

the plec is a common one i think that is what it was sold to me as. But it has distinct round spots rather than the splodges on the common plec downstairs. the tiger barbs are also very aggressive and attack any other fish in there this tank was bought for them only. They even go for my snail sometimes

I love tiger barbs... great fish to watch, IMO.
Sounds like a nice set-up.

Thankyou they are great to watch and the albinos and normal (silver/black) compliment each other. Along with the snails an external filter and a large piece of bogwood with plants attached is on the cards. The tank has only been running a few months.
