My Seneye Review

Hey guys. I have just finished gutting out my freshwater system and am currently in the early stages of my salty cycle. I just started a new month for my slide on the freshwater tank just a few days ago. I was wondering if I can just throw it in the salty tank and it will relay data just fine? I remember when I registered on seneye that I had to fill out my tank info. I tried to go in to update that but couldn't find it anywhere. Not sure if thats important or not? Anyways any suggestions/help is appreciateed. Thanks and cheers!

I know what you mean about filling in those tank details when you first get your Seneye but I don't think they affect the readings or graphical presentations in any way. It's the slide that measures the water conditions. On the other question I think you'd be best to sacrifice the £4/5 of the fairly new slide to replace it with a new one because the slide has acclimatised itself to your previous water. I did this when I swapped my Seneye to my new tank. I was bit miffed about the fact that I hadn't long started a new slide but, hey ho you don't want to get your readings wrong and risk many more pounds worth of loss. Hope that's helpful. If you're not sure give the Seneye chaps a ring - they're very helpful.
SORRY forgot you're in Canada! So its $ not £ and giving Seneye a ring might be more expensive than a new slide??

I was not suggesting you were wrong. I was helping my friend set up a FOWLR tank and was curious if I could use my existing slide to test his tank and then return it to mine. It worked so I didn't have to sacrifice one of my slides. :good:

Thanks again guys. I appreciate all the seneye support you guys have provided for me! :good:

I'm getting increasingly interested in this product and would love to know how you are finding the nitrate readings compared to liquid test kits, which often give horribly inaccurate results, because the chemicals form a sediment in the bottom of the test kit bottles.

The Seneye doesn't measure nitrites yet just AMMONIA, PH, TEMPERATURE AND LIGHT (REEF MODEL). We all await the 'Digistrip' which is being designed as we speak to measure nitrites, nitrates and more. We hope it will be available towards the end of the year.

I owe this thread and the the help of Gforce and KISS for me getting Seneye, and sticking with it! So happy everyone worked out, I love it. Can't wait for the new digistrip!
