I might be persuaded to do just that 
I might sellotape it in place this time!
And it actually worked well but I didnt see anything in my tank yet. However I have all the lights of in the room except the TV. Hardly any light in the tank atall but its not pitch black if you get me. I saw some brittle stars come out to play last night after an hour of no other lights.
All the lighting in my room is from tanks. 2 fish tank and 1 beardie tank so they all sleep at the same time
