it was there last night and when I went to check in the morning it had dissapeared, I've spent about an hour looking for it but no luck, I moved all the plants etc...

The only thing I ca nthink of is that the other fish had a bit of a feast in the middle of the night, but why/?

Its been in there 3 days and it seemed to get on with the other fish. I'm puzzled

current contents of the tank are..
6 Red Eye Tetras
6 Neon Tetras
1 Siamese Fighter
1 Dwarf gourami
2 catfish

would be safe to get another one or will it meet the same fate?

harry

well fist thing ill say is get the simase fighter and the gouramis out of the same tank. simaise fighters r bettas and gouramis and them dont get along. maybe ur fish is hiding or was sucked up the filter

I havent seen any evidence of them not getting along.. I did have 2 dwarf gouramis before i got the fighter and one was constantly atacking the other so I changed it for a fighter.

I did a really thorough check under all the plants and in the filter, but nothing...

did the tank have a top on it? have you checked the floor all the way around?

any ideas what could have happened?

he's still missing.

I've had two khuli loaches and a baby whale go missing in my tanks, they have never been found!! Actually the other day i found the body of a fish but couldn't distinguish what it was, did a head count but none were missing so i'm assuming it was the remains of a long lost khuli. However my fish are a lot more voracious than yours! Have you checked within the plants ? Sorry if you have truly lost him!! What catfish have you got?

check the sand it might be under i have 1 to :) sorry if it is truly gone

The same thing happened to me awhile ago...but with my old Ruby/Rainbow shark.
He was there that day...but when I went to check on him before I went to bed he was nowhere to be found. I looked everywhere....moved the plants, checked the filter etc. but still nothing. I looked all around the tank and still saw nothing. The tank has a canopy on it. Anyway, after about an hour of searching I eventually found him him behind me dresser....dead. :(
We concluded that he jumped out between a small space between my canopy and filter.

I hope you find him and I'm sorry if you don't. :(
