Hi everyone. Well i've got round to rescaping my tank. This is the frist part of the three part upgrade over the next eight months.

Frist Part

The frist part of this upgrade was to replace the gravel with Argos play sand. That was the easy part. Next was removing the ugly black filter box that comes with jewel tanks. This was a bit of a pain but with some helpful threads on how to do it, I set on with it, half an hour later it was removed and the tank was silll in one place.
Yay more space and no more ugly black box (sorry to anyone out there who like them)
So with more tank space comes more wood yay. After asking on the forum about wood I found some I like and was about to order some, till I went to my lfs where i found some lovely bog wood. So £10 later and two lumps of wood. I've sorted out my deco yay.

The filter im using now is a Tetratec 600, This gives me 10x turn over. I've been wondering about Hydor Koralia Nano Pump this would give me 25x turn over is two much? I not sure if I should replacing the spray bra with a lilly head. But im just seen how the spray bra goes frist.

My plants are low light plants cryps and java furn. I will do another post about my plants. I am hoping to post pictures of the rescape shortly. Well ok for now more tomorrow. When im not using my moblie to do this lol

Plants

As i Said in my last post I have low light plants.

Cryptocoryne Wendtii "Brown"
Cryptocoryne Wendtii "Tropica"
Cryptocoryne Wendtii "Green"
Hygrophila Corymbosa " Siamensis 53B"
Java Fern
Anubias Baeteri var. nana

all these plants are tropica grown from pets at home before they stop selling them, and they have grown on very well. I Fertilise my plants with ProFito 6ml a week now. And I have changed over to Tropica Plant Nutrition+ capsules. I will be changing over to Tropica Plant Nutrition+ liquid Fertiliser once im ProFito runs out.
I havent placed a Substrates under the sand as I wasn't sure about it and my skills have not got to that point where I feel happy to use this. So for the time been I am sticking to the capsule and liquid to feed my plants.

As I said before I am slowly up grading my tank over the next eight months. The next thing on my list is a new ligthing system the one I've seen is from Arcadia and it it the OTL T8 Luminaire. I have worked out this should give me 2wpg, Which gets me on to C02 as I haven't got a clue what kind of C02 system i would need for this amount of light. At the moment I am using easy Carbo. But I know when i change my lighting i will need more C02 am I right lol.

The last part of my upgrade is a new DIY Cabinet, Im putting my wood Work skills to the test now lol I have seen some Cabinets I like but they are out of my price range so i found i can building them myself lol.

I am hoping to get some pictures posted this week, fingers crossed lol. Have fun everyone

Hi everyone. Well I've added some pictures now, there not very good lol. I would love any comments anyone as say as Im not very good at aqua gradening yet lol.
I would like some more stem plants. I did have some Hygrophila lacustris but it died with a week. I have one stem plant but I would like another two any ideas on this would be great. The other question is i would like a low carpet of something but not sure what would sute my set up. And the last question (sorry buys and girls lol) been think of putting moss on my wood. Any comments on this idea would be great, as I'm not sure which moss , and if it would look right.
Sorry about the pic had to use the camera on my phone .

Tropica Stem Plants

Hi guys I've been looking on the Tropica and Green Machine website at the plants. I've worked out that I need three stem plants. These are the plants I've picked which I think will grow well in my tank.
Bacopa Caroliniana
Hygrophila Corymbosa 'Siamensis'
Hygrophila Polysperma
Shinnersia Rivularis 'Weiss-Grun'

The thing I like to know is what do people think to these stem plants and are they ok for my setup.
And I'm thinking of a name for my project so far the only thing I can think of is The Pool. Any names or idea would be great and any comments I would love to hear them. Thank you everyone.
