Hello After being given advice on my plecs being too big for my 100 Ltr tank I have reluctantly decided to offer them to a new owner.

Anyone interested in collecting them from Lincoln please reply to this thread.

They are both 7-8 inches and not aggressive to each other, in fact they tend to sit next to each other most of the time

Anyone willing to do a swop would be most welcome. :shout:

sorry I couldn't help out with rehoming but there is a buy sell and swap section further down this forum you could advertise your plecs in. Also you could sell them back to your fish/pet shop? Or get a bigger tank...... :hey:

I only just bought this tank from ebay and the plecs came with it, so I think the better option would be to give the plecs to a larger plec lover, and buy some new plecs that won't grow as big.

I am thinking about the King Striped at the moment although on here it says the grow 4" long then on some other sites say 6" and tropicalfish4u say 12" although I think they've just put the wrong figure in.

Thanks for the tip I have put them in the Buy, Sell & Swap section, but I'm not holding my breath seeing as they are common Plecs, although there may be a plec crazy person out there that can take them off my hands.

Do Pet Shops really buy them back when they are this size? I wouldn't have though people with the size of tank these will need would buy their fish from a pet shop, as if they were into the hobby to that extent I would've thought they'd go direct to breeders!

Thanks for the advice anyway. If no-one on here replies to me then I'll try the pet shops.

It would depend on the store really. There is certainly no harm in asking around if anyone could take them in for you. I've heard of alot of people selling back their fish when they get too big. Go for it!!

Bear in mind that it can be a little tricky to pass on a big fish to a lfs or zoo. Not impossible though :)

If fish shop won't take them and there's no-one local will take them off my hands. what do i do. I have no room for a bigger tank! It wasn't beginners error or anything they were with the tank I bought!!

I don't drive so can't deliver! :/

Worst case, you could euthanse them :(

I saw a thread on Aquaria Central where someone did the same thing to Pacu, better that than suffering in a tank too small for them.
