My Photo Album

@ Flute, thank you very much.

I used a tungsten sawblade to cut lavarock in half.

jowi036.jpg

Then used the lavarock halves to build mij background in the 125 x 50 x50cm. tank with silicone glue. Not all the way to the
bottem glassplate. I left the lavastones on the bottemplate loose. This makes catching fish easy, just lower the waterlevel and
take out the loose stones.

In this way i hid the powerfliter.

With segments like this i hide powerheadfilters and heaters.

I use plastic lids for inbetween the loose stones and the bottem glassplate.

There are always bits and pieces floating about. ( i think my Labs eat it )
New plants sprout from them.

I have a problem regarding the following picture.
Do i post my cichlidbudgie in this topic, or in Non Fish Photographs

Haha, that last photo is brilliant :p
Gorgeous photos though, the texture on the java fern is amazing!

@ Thank you Jam Jam. Thank you Flute, here`s one more.

Javafern started growing here by itself. i did`nt plant it there.

Almost 25 years ago. 100x50x40cm. This was my third time around keeping Mbuna.
jowi068.jpg

I had started to notice that the higher up i went with my rocks, my cichlids dared to follow
Apart from feeding time, that is haha.

About 17 years ago. 125x40x40cm.
jowi069.jpg

On the left is a lavastone segment i made to hide my heater and powerhead filter.
I could take this segment out of the tank in one piece when needed.
The bogwood was used in another tank. I took it out because it dos`nt belong in a cichlid tank.

After that this tank was added. 125x50x50cm.
jowi070.jpg

I started making my own lavastone background with silicone glue. All the way up to the surface.
By doing this and providing them with lots of hiding space through rocks and Javafern,
( my Javafern is like a jungle ) and ditherfish, they are less shy.
Here i`m filling the gaps with loose stones from the bottem up.

So now most of my tanks look like this.
