While I certainly love a good BBQ that is not the way to go about it. Consider some of these; http

Single freestanding tanks can get by with the household strips, a working fishroom need a more industrial setup, similar to the way you have a blower rather than a zillion small pumps.
I'm not an electrician, my ex's father, as well as my brother in law are. I've got no problem bending pipe, pulling wire, and so on, when it comes to installing new service with a new panel & such I do ask for their eyes before starting & powering it up. They're the card carrying union guys that do it for a living, and remain living. I'm sure if they saw those pictures they would wonder if you are still living.
I've got a 20 amp & 15 amp circuit for the fishroom, biggest draw is heaters. I went with a centralized air driven system long ago due to the electrical mayhem caused by individual filters. I'm not real big on lights, most are smaller flouro fixtures. The second best thing I've done besides air to all the tank is the large bus strips;
I don't do the "art quality" pipe bending of my BIL, it is all up to code;
Humidity causes corrosion, which causes bad connections. Bad connections, wet floor, wet hands in tank, and zappo, smoke comes out of your ears. Best way to prevent this is to start with good solid connections, any time I'm messing with water in the fishroom I'm wearing my work boots, with a good electrical hazard rating.
