Oh right.. looks like they specialise in discus and koi. Could be good for other tropical fish though, It's hard to find somewhere with more fish.

They do specialise in discus yes, their koi section is alright, but closed now over winter. They do know their stuff, but as always you should research anyway....

What're you looking for?

not been around here for abit duo to health reasons so ive not had much chance to do anything with the tank but the basics water change
my vallis plant died of so im left the what you see,

tank04_03_2012.jpg

with all the rock in finding it hard to plant and this is getting me board with the theme i have im also going of the sand as it keeps shifting so may go back to gravel
any ideas for a revamp please...

Thanks..

The nature of the hobby. Put so much work into a scape then get a bit bored and have to rearrange.
How about a triangular theme. Build up one side of the tank, stones and wood and let it taper down to bare sand.
Ah decisions, decisions.

Having a rework
not been around for a while and need to get the tank back to tiptop condition so im having a bit of a re work
First remove 60% of the water and give all the glass a good clean,

rework1.jpg

Then to carefully move the tank away from the wall so i can paint the back first coat on,

after nearly dropping dead at the price of the paint ranging from £10 to £15 for a small tin i remembered we have a JTF near buy its a bit like netto and macro all in one
cheap crap stacked high any way found a small tin of black gloss for just over £1 with the VAT added so i thought that will do and give it ago
2hrs and it touch dry 6 and it on with the second coat..... looks alittle washy at the mo fingers crossed in a few hours it will look ok!!!!

Oh dear, paint said 2hrs touch dry and it is, But the paint has cracked in several places FFSSSSSS guess im scraping it of tomorrow :(

EDIT: hmmmm now it's fully dry it don't look to bad so
I'm going to stick with it I've done second coat
Let's see what it's like in the morning

Fingers crossed

well after 2 more coat and 24hrs to dry the black gloss is looking much better so im going to leave it on and see how it goes for now
here is a not so good quality photo....once i get it back in place will get the Canon DSLR out and take some better ones

Looks very good, the low scape makes it feel massive, although the heater is a bit of a giveaway... :D

I love the Rio series of tanks. Have you considered buying the black jewellery backgrounds. They hide the back of the tank realy well.
