This is just a topic to direct any of you guys who are interested to check out my new tank journal for a 500l tank I just set up. I'm really interested in Cichlid's and have a couple of Geo's (hopefully soon be 8) and a Sev. A few members had said it would be good for me to post my progress on this forum, so feel free to give me any advice and feedback or any idea's on how I could make it better.

Just letting people know it's in the New Tank section

Thanks
Adam

Their lovely fish, I just need more to spread the aggression! The only problem is that they are hard to get hold of. Neil from Pier Aquatics is emailing me when he gets some more in, which hopefully will be the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to have a propper group of them.

Will look amazing!!!

Im sure it will!

After waiting and waiting for some Abalios to become available I've decided to give up on finding some more and go for a different species of Geo. I have always been fond of the Red Head Tapajos and when Oddballs Express got them instock I took a trip down and purchased 8 wild juveniles from Ross, and also part exchanged my 2 Abalios. Although I no longer have the Abalios I'm happy in the knowledge that they are in great hands there, and hopefully, someone will buy them who has a large group of them already to minimize aggression.

Anyway, whilst there, Ross took me round all the tanks and asked what else I had and what might be of interest to me. He pointed out a few fish that he felt would go well with my current stock, and I ended up walking out with a pair of Ellioti's too, which have apparently spawn together in the past.

The fish have all settled in extremely well and the Red Heads have already started to show some colour at such a youn age. My 6 inch Rotkeil Severum is also getting along great (so far) and the tank looks really lively. I'm sure in a few months when they have matured abit they will look stunning, as you can already see the colours in their fins.

Here's a few pics for now off my rubbish camera.

Wow looking good! I have always been fond of Red Head Tapajos and they look so cute when they are young!

I hope your Ellioti are less troublesome than mine ...

I'm hoping my Severum will keep them both in check

Mine is the same size as my Severum (around 6 inches) and he is starting to snap at it him a lot. I hope my Severum grows a little faster and puts him in his place. Otherwise one will have to go ...

Snap lol my elliotis are real troublecausers but stunning fish thats one of mine in my avatar.

Nice stocking, i have my elliotis with a rotkeil too and at the minute the elliotis are the boss but i think things will change around soon in my tank.

Thanks guys.

Liam, I hope my Ellioti's turn out to be even half as nice as yours!!!

Heres some better quality snaps...

The Sev is quite shy, but recently after moving to the 500l it seems alot more confident and will cruise all over the tank. It used to hide under the heaters and filter strainers everytime I walked up to the tank. I'm not sure whether it's male or female. I was told when buying it that it was a male due to the pointy fins, but it doesnt have much pattern on its face, which I've found is an indicator that it could be female, so I'm not exactly sure.
