Thanks

The final stocking will be:
1 x Rotkeil Severum
2 x Ellioti's
11 x Bleeding Heart Tetra
8 x Geophagus Red Head Tapajos
10 x corys (juliis)

Sounds great. I would say that you could probably up your Tetra numbers if you like.

Ok cool.

I think my female Ellioti thinks she's a Geo. She keeps swimming around with them whilst the male seems ro have found a new home amongst the bogwood. Lol

Lol I bet she looks cute. You should post a video, would be good to see the Geo's shoaling.

I got my Jewel when she was less than an inch in length and she spent the first three months shoaling around like a barb

I'll try and upload a video over the weekend. I should have some spate time on my hands then. I've just added some more wood and some smooth stones if anyone decides to spawn. Hopefully my Ellioti's will soon as they are around 9 months old according to Ross.

How big are your Ellioti? I think that mine is around 15 months as i have had him for around a year (pic in classifieds as I am fed up of my Severum getting stressed out).

I'd say the male is around 4" and female is 3"

I saw the picture of yours. Lovely fish! It's such a same it doesn't get on with your Sev.

Ahh fair enough, yours did not look that big on the pic. I guess that they will be ready for breeding soon. Good luck!

It would be really good if your Geo breed at some point in the future as well.

Yes, I'm pretty confident of breeding the Geo's, especially now I have a group of 8. Im hopefull of getting at least 1 pair from these, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

For sure your geos will breed and you'll be wishing them to stop (rabbits with fins). We've got two male tapajo and one male for most of the time sticks with the one female and the other will go with any female that will have him.

After abit of time away from the forum, I thought I'd post a few up to date photo's. All my fish (except the Sev) were purchased around 6 months ago as juvies.

To date, most of the time everyone gets on fine. My 8 Geo's squabble amongst themselves, which probably explains a few ripped fins here and there, but nothing serious. At the end of the day they are Geo's and thats what they do.

My Ellioti's are colouring up nicely, and they are now spawning every 3 weeks. Generally they are quite peaceful, although when breeding they get extremeley territorial. It doesnt help when my Severum constantly wants to get too close to the spawning ground, but hopefully it'll learn to keep out of the way, rather than picking up a few war wounds everytime they spawn.

Also, I'm currently raising a batch of around 100 Ellioti fry that I transfered to a spare tank. It's the first time I've done this but so far, so good :good:

Anyway, here's my female Ellioti

Thanks for reading!!!

Hi guys,

As some people may have seen, my breeding pair of Ellioti's are up for sale in the Classified section. FREE to a good home, with pick-up only from Warrington, Cheshire.

Therefore, once I rehome those 2, I'll have 1 7" Rotkeil Severum, a group of 8 Geophagus Tapajos, 10 bleeding heart tetra's, and around 8 corys.

Bearing in mind I have a 500l (5x2x2) is there room for any new additions??? I'm thinking about maybe adding another Rotkeil Severum, however as I already have a fully grown one, is it risky adding a new one?? Alternatively I love the look of the Red Spotted Sevs but I'm aware of their potential size and I'm not sure whether my current Rotkeil would take kindly to a 'newbie'.

Any other thought/advice would be appreciated.

Adam
