Ah, a baby gibbi; hope your tank's big enough!

+1 flutter!! my nephew bought one of these. it wasn't long until it grew massive and i had to move it (rather quickly to my friends 6ft tank!!) he is now nicknamed 'dyson' as he was trying to 'suck up' everything in the smaller tank!!

L :hyper:

I know the feeling, laura; I've rescued one that my ex got with a second hand 2 foot tank :( Lord knows what I'm going to do with it; worst thing is, my mum has an empty 5x2x2 that she's giving up as she's moving, but I can't find anyone who'll move it to my house for me :shout:

yeah my tanks pleanty big enough for him :) hes so small :p

well the tank hes in now if i was stinking with it then it would be to small, but just after xmas im moving them to an jewel 350 :)

I don't think even a Jewel 350 is big enough. Don't these get to well over a foot long?

As in a trigon 350?.... if this is the case then the foot print isn't big enough. You are looking at bare bare minimum 4x2x2 (this to me is still to small) with 5x2x2 being far better and bigger even more so.

if he don't strangle himself on the cotton line first don't be silly lol ill see how it goes, in the tank, hes not even a inch long so i have pletty of time to sort something out :)

i mean im only 19 years of age with a standered job its not like i can just go out and splash out on a big tank just like that im slowly saving my money for a bigger tank like i said a trigon 350 or i might go for a 4foot by 2 foot by 2foot i know where you are coming from guys but you dont have to worry i know what im dealing with and it would be nice to have a good commment for once, instead of being told off like my tank not big ect,i know all of this i would love a bigger tank trust me guys but i just haven't got the money yet :( i have other thing to pay for :( it sucks

If given the correct conditions, this plec can reach between 9-11 inches within the first 9-12 months so really you dont have a massive amount of time.

I dont mean to sound rude but if you new all of what you said above and you know the size the plec can get why on earth did you buy it on the pretense you were getting a larger tank?..... as you say.....

So with these comments in mind, it could be alot longer than needed before you get a big enough tank for him?.... there could be something else that turns up in the mean time which puts the new tank even further into the future.

This is why there isn't often good comments in regards to common species of plec when people buy them.

I'm sure you could have brought this fish when you had actually upgraded to a bigger tank?.... it's not like there rare or hard to obtain at any size.

Nice plec:) it'll grow to a decent size and poop like crazy but intresting creatures and worth the hassle. they get a lot of stick as a 'common' plec but id rather have one of these than some of the more pricey species.

Well, don't buy fish that will grow too big for your tank then! It's as simple as that.

Sorry if I sound harsh, but there are loads of other interesting plecs that don't get that big. You have to be realistic as to what you can properly house when you buy fish.

FishyJake13 your a funny guy 9 to 12 months you really think im going to keep the tank i have now that long NO im getting a new and bigger setup after xmas in the 1st month on the new year lol
