Here's a pic of my newest fish, I bought her about 5 days ago & I was unsure if she was going to make it after the beating she took the 1st day  , but thankfully the compressiceps accepted her (FINALLY!) and she's fit in nicely & seems to be doing well. And she has to be the most gentle, peaceful fish I've ever seen

Thank you!! She is a looker
and it was the small compressiceps cichlid (the one with one eye) who was doing all the bullying  , I was so scared after I put the new fish in, when I saw her eyeballing it from down in her cave and as soon as I let it out of the bag she went bonkers, ruthlessly attacking for about 45 minutes, I started to bring the empty 42 gallon on my porch into the house and set it up so I could move the frontosa out and into that tank but the attacks died down so I just let her stay in, the frontosa did snap at the other fish a few times but then ,I think, she noticed that the compressiceps had only one eye and she just stopped defending herself and took the beating. Almost like a" you wouldn't hit a guy with glasses" type thing

i think fish are allot more complicated than people sometimes realise i had to moove 5 of one species away from the other two today im not shure if there is anything about the two i left but the five stick together in a pack i dont know why but they all seem to be settleing donw now arg ive just realised i missed two of the other ones oh well at least the odds are even now.

I agree about them being complex, I LOVE watching my fish, I can stop by the tank to peek in and before I know it 10 minutes go by
