Hello all, well here it is, my new Fluval Roma 200. Excellent tank, very well made and came as a great package from Pets at Home up here in gateshead. I'm setting it up as a tropical community tank. I have a sand substrate with some soil from a previous planted tank underneath to keep mu plants happy. Bits of bogwood and stones from previous tanks, and a fair few plants!

Hopefully my final stocking level will be 5 Angels, 6 Congo tetras, 6(ish) harlequin rasboras, 3-6 cherry barbs (not sure yet), 5-7 bronze cory's (if I can ever catch the other two out of my 60L community) and 2 BN plecs. I do like Hatchet and pencilfish too but I think that'll push me over the top with this tank, especially if I add them too quickly.

So, anyway, here's a couple of pics to whet your appetite.

Just a couple of full tank shots from my camera phone. Hopefully if I can borrow a decent camera i'll try and get some pics of the fish, but they're just too darn quick to get with my phone.

Im loving my 200 litre. They give you so much more of a chance for variety.

Keep the pikkies coming. Will be good to see how you progress it.

This is so true, the larger volume is excellent to work with, Not so much the fact you can have more fish, but the options of what fish you can choose are so much more interesting.

That said on the other end of the scale my Galaxy Rasboras which i'#m wanting to breed are tiny, but absolutely stunning fish!

love the natural look with the bogwood
never found myself very good with real plants tho
they usually just grow to big quickly and die on me got plastics in there at the moment but wait and see once it is fully stocked

i dont like the place of the heater

That's one thing that doesn't bother me. I place it for efficient heating of the water which I believe angled and close to the filter intake is most useful. Then the warm water is drawn through the filter so it's mixed in the tank via the output. By the time the plants grow up they'll cover the heater anyways.

And one thing I didn't mention, the fluval 2 filter is only running till the supplied external is cycled, at which time it will be removed.

A few more pics,

Fluval 2 taken out, and some pics of the fish too!
