I had a tank free up due to my Nezzies moving to my aquascape (link below), so i decided i would try my hand at keeping Dwarf Puffers, this is my low tech tank, no ferts, no co2. I like the puffers already, they look crafty somehow

I also took the oppurtunity to test my new camera out on my first ever aquascape and the difference between the initial planting and just 5 weeks later is incredible, heres the link for the pictures:

Awsome Tank. I am hoping to do something similar myself. I hear that DP prefer sand but I am sure that gravel will be fine.

Can I get tank size and list of plants for future reference?

Your tank looks great & so do the puffers!
BTW that looks like Queenstown, NZ in your sig?? Every time I see it on here it makes me want to go back

I love dps. I have had 2 at separate times, think they were figure of 8s! They have such lovely little faces, still got a colony of water snails in my water barrel that I bred just for them! I only kept them for about 6 months each and then they died suddenly and I couldnt bear it so moved on to bettas! ps The first one I had, owned him about 4 weeks and we went away so he had a nice clean tank and I gave him a floating pellet to eat whilst we were on holiday. Came back a week later to a filthy tank he hadnt touched the pellet just demolished it, one really mad puffer who when he saw me came to the front of the tank and just glared at me "How dare you leave me with this muck to eat wheres me snails?" :good:

hi, the tank is 2 X 1 X 1, the only truely aquatic plants in there are vallis, a sword and a crypt, the other broad leaf plants are not uderwater plants - they see to survive longer than all but the toughest plants, the plant with the large leaves has been in there for about 5 months, its now got a thin carpet of brush algae on it - it actually looks quite good

Thanks for the remarks.

haha, they are funny to watch

How did you go about breeding your snails, i have a tiny spare tank, think its about 6-7 litres, do i need a filter or just put some water in the tank and leave them to do there thing?
