My New Arrival - I Think I May Have Picked A Name

Personally I like Spain. I went there a couple of years ago and will be going beck. I also like the sound of their language too.
From the choices you give with names I prefare Alonzo. I never was one to pick a name already immortalized and famed because of movies. And I can't recall at this ungodly hour what movie Alonzo is from

Sadly, shes not much of a fish person, animal person for that matter. But thats why shes got me =P Im slowly changing her and at the moment, if she had to choose, its a close tie between Betta's and Neon Tetras.

I like Javier the most =P From your above post, it also has alot of meaning =P

I love Javier but I don't know if my bf will be cut If I call my boy after a guy I was drooling over in a movie ;) do you think he will feel threatened at all?

I really like the meaning of Alonzo pretty cool fitting name for a fighter but I like the sound of Javier but I don't want to upset my bf

Oh dear I don't know I have to name the poor guy soon

I think my wife would be upset if I named a creature ater a sexy star.
Renee you have to go wth your feelings. it's your fish!
But can I be the real royal arse here. Its a very nice Fish and not a guy. It is possible that in a month or two you may not actualy like that actor. You may even wonder why you liked him! Then you might wish you haden't named it such. I'd prsonally go nutral ad pick a name that doesn't carry anothers face

I would not soely name the fish because of the character in the movie I also love the name .........it is the characters name not the film star's name and I love what that character represented and I love Cuba (where the movie is set) so he wouldn't be named after an actor.

My first ever betta was called Orlando! That was a few years back before I knew about keeping bettas separate etc. and the other fishes munched him :(

I think Dante is an excellent choice.

And call him what you like, if your bf gets miffed by you calling him after a male star, remind him its just a FISH, you're really not likely to confuse him with the movie star you'll never ever meet and equally, if not more likely to be having an affair with either of them

I know this is sorta off topic but on the topic of Spanish names my mum has a chicken called Alonso (after Fernando Alonso)- so gotta say I like that name! (Although he drives the silver car....) :)

 yes I guess your right I don't think he will threatened if I call my Betta after a film star.

Poor Orlando

I have finally named my beautiful boy............ I loved all the names mentioned and I just couldn't pick one ...............then after thinking some more and remembering how xuchilbara suggested using a thai name I thought he should have a Thai name since he was born in Thailand and I thought a very fitting name for him would be:

sŭay (pronouced sueway) which in Thai means:

[ V ] be beautiful ; be attractive ; be pretty

He is such a gorgeous boy I thought this name was fitting what do you guys think or is there another Thai name/word you would suggest?
