My New 5 Gallon Betta Tank.

keep an eye on your plants as you get more or start to clip and rreplant the elodea(also known as anacharis)...it grows like mad and as Honeythorn stated, can simply be trimmed and then just replant the trimmings. if you notice leaves starting to go brown, or they look sickly, id think about adding some macro fertilizers. but the bioload in there just MIGHT provide enough nutrients. depends on the filtration capacity for the tank. but looks FABULOUS!!! id stick to two cories for now and just monitor things, get a feel for maintenance and water quality, but you could Definitely get away with some shrimp. they are low on the bioload and if your plants take off, they would love it in there!
i currently have a 6 gal planted with vallis, a huge crypt and some micro-swordgrass as a foreground plant. ive had camboba and elodea in there prior. it has been very harmonious with a betta, two cories (one "peppered" cory and a C. Soldalis) and 20 red cherry shrimp and a bunch of snails.
actually, get a few snails for your tank. interesting and will keep the plants gravel and glass clean!
im curious for updates. so post frequently!!!
looks awesome! :good:
cheers
