My Nano Diary

IMO i would of went for a taller tank.......... and get rid of that sponge!

Sexy boy

Will be removing sponge & replacing with rowa & carbon when the time comes to put some stock in it. Will have to sit like this for a few weeks as am working in our completely gutted front room at the mo. Re-building & redecorating. Will be housing another 6ft reef in their so will be starting that shortly too. One area will look something like this.

Yellow stuff is going to be a fake stone look, mahogany tops & trim. Black thing is a fake electric fire!

Used to have a 6ft but had a major crash (anemone vs stream!!), lost heart and sold up. Miss it too much though!! Here's a pic of how it was, more thinking going into it this time so will be better.

Bit of an update, tanks cleared and 3 hermits added.

Have also added a eheim ecco external filter running filter wool, carbon & rowa. Mooded the outlet to increase surface agitaion too.

what plans do you have for fish and corals?

An algae blenny or similar

2 x small fish (possible clowns, don't know yet)

Couple of shrimp. clean-up crew

Soft corals, more than likely zoo's, polyp style corals & zenia. Want stuff that's gonna move around in the flow.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Ok, forget everything that's happened so far

Due to a change in living space (got rid of my pool table due to lack of room) in my office/dining room. I am now changing the whole of the design above to something like this.

What do you reckon. Excuse my dodgy plumbing drawings though.

Main tank still 25x15x15. Sump tank 24x12x12. Overhead fuge 20x8x8

Still toying with the idea of swapping the fuge & sump around though and having the smaller one as the sump???? Do you reckon it could cope with the overflow of the 2 above??

Biostar skimmer in sump.

Newjet 3000 & scwd on closed loop for circulation.

Got all bits, still undecided big tank top or bottom??? Need to decide to build stand

Well since your volume of water will be the same no matter which order you have them setup, why not make the biggest tank your display just in case you want to add fish that require more room?
