Welcome To My Nano Diary.

good looking tank that.

Good live rock should probably have a bit of purple colour to it, not smell too bad. You probably wont notice much life on it right away though. I have to look into my tank at night to see much. Then theres TONs of lil creatures

ok cheers for that ben :good:
this time next week and I shall be rock watching :hyper: :hyper:

Just been on youtube watching videos of Midas Blennys,I think one will be added to my stocking list :). How many fish would you say should be my max stock? (Im hopeing 4  )

Coral wise I have had a look on liveaquaria and like the look of Mushrooms, Fungia Plate, Furry Mushrooms(in the hope that the clowns will host it :hyper: ), Torch, Starburst. These all seem to be pretty easy to care for :good:

gaz

edit-didnt make sense.

I got myself a Hairy Mushrrom yesterday. ust like you I would like the colwns t host in them.

so long as you keep ontop of maintainance i wouldn be suprised if you got more than 4 fish in there easily.

Agression and compatability being taken into acct ofcourse. Most marines are terratorial so try and scape with a few hiding places.

So what fish people recommened if i could have say 2 more on top of 2x clowns and a midas blenny ?
Im thinking sixline wrasse or like T.I said a flasher, as these are both reef safe and wouldnt harm a feather duster.

Morning everyone,

As it was payday yesterday :hyper: I ordered a refractometer and today I popped down the LFS to get some RO water and a decent thermometer. The LR holding tank is now wet and comeing up to temp,as soon as it up to temp the salt will go in.LR is defently being collected saturday. :hyper:.

LFS suggested getting some light on the LR whilst in the holding tank,is this necessary ?

cheers

Well ladies and gents, bit of good and bad news to report today.Firstly the good.....

Today be the the day of collecting my LR. So off me and my old man went to Melton Mowbray to meet a very nice chap called Mark(UR member), to collect the 10kgs he had set aside for me. After a few minutes of gorping over his gorgeous Godiva, he showed me the rock. :good: Some lovely bits with a nice amount of colour and plenty of the purple stuff. I got it home, placed it in the holding tank and have spotted a little hitchhiker snail already :).
Here it be ...

Now the bad. :(
Last night I got into work to be told that we were all being laid off as they havent got any new contracts coming up,great !
So this may mean that the tank may have to go on hold for a little while,as I might have to work away from home for a little while until I can find somethink more local. :( But we will see what comes up.

Anyways what do you think to the LR?

cheers gaz

Thanks sef. Having had a good look at it I think these will be my base rock, then I will be buy a few more bits from LFS that have nice shape.
The rock was transported home in salt water and was away from a heater for no longer then 1 hour, so there shouldnt be much die off right? Should I start testing the water?

Sorry to hear about Mr Seffie, hope he has found work now. I shouldnt be out of work for to long, got a few bits in the pipeline :good:

cheers gaz

P.S thanks for the birthday message, hopefully Ill have abit more money to spend on a some bits for the tank. :)

you are right, there should be ahrdly any die off at all. Id maybe test the water every other day for a few days then go ahead and add some CUC if things stay stable.

happy birthday btw
