This is my second tank. I am upgrading from a 55g to a 75G. I found one on craigslist for 100$ pre drilled, brand new with paper work and everything. I am planning a 29G long sump modeled after this.

Here are a few pictures of my stand in Process

My buddy is "helping" me building it. I couldn't built a square box even if I tried.

What's MDF?

Answer: Medium Density Fiberboard

No it's plywood

Interesting... How are you securing the corners? Please don't tell me your friend is just screwing into the side of the ply?

Among other things he is screwing in the plywood, but he has some little pieces of wood that hold the thing together as well. We still have to put the floor in and more "CrossMembers" sorry I'm a computer guy and not a builder.

It is modeled after his stand which he has had for couple of years now.

Huh, well I wouldn't do it that way, but I'm usually overly nervous and anal about those kind of things... What's he gonna do about the edges, any fancy molding?

Yeah I got a bunch of Fancy molding with grapes and vines.

As far as the stand you have to remember that the weight is going straight down and not really creating pressure toware the outside. We are using 3/4 inch plywood. That's what they built roofs with.

nice, 3/4" ply is great. You're right that the wieght is mostly straight up and down, but you do have to take into account twisting forces which will exist with people walking aroudn the tank and with you reaching into it. The plywood will definitely take care of that though :good:
