My Malawi Tank Pc Wallpaper

Stunning pic - what camera did you use? I'd like a nice one myself
I'd like to think it was my photography skills that had taken the photo
But as you asked its a canon 550
photo was taken at night with all the house lights off
Camera set to f4 and 1/40th shutter speed iso speed was 800

Then corrected the levels in photoshop and cropped to size :)

:good: 550D is the best value for money camera on the market, and it produces some great shots. Love the desktop mate and i also love the TFF badge in the corner. I'm gonna share this in the mod section.

Thanks it is indeed a good entry level camera
I had a 40D and loads of lenses but they have gone now
It gets silly with money

Share in mod section what does that mean ?

Just in case the other mods miss it. We have our own section, which now has a thread with your pic in.

lol, re the camera questions. Sure it takes a good eye to line up a shot and knowledge to use the correct in-camera settings but a good camera is a major factor!

I personally like the challenge of creating a good shot without using any computer enhancements so I don't do any cropping or editing of my photos at all. But then I haven't managed any pics as nice as this so hey! To each their own!

The only editing it has had was to lift the black levels, this then removed blemishes and scratches you could see on the glass I also used the clone tool to remove any scratches
And bit floating in the water

The image was set up in camera and lighting set buy me, the crop was so it fit my 22" wide screen TFT as if I did not crop to size it would not look right as a wallpaper and go out of shape

Its impossible to set up every thing in camera due to sensor
Limitations it's only a entry level camera, so some things need to be corrected, same as if you was on film you would correct it in the darkroom

I've been into photography for about 5 years now and I ran my own forum called toggers, photographing fish has been the hardiest photograph I've undertaken

Yeah, scratches are a total nightmare for me, I bought a used tank and after I cleaned it the scratches really appeared!
