My Lighting Diy Under $10!

Let me see if I can get some pictures of the plants right now, I don't have very many of them when I first got them in january but I'll see what I can do. The Amazon swords I had are really taking off now and the java moss is barely growing for some reason, I think the majority of it was dead though when I recieved it in the mail. The only other plants I have in there currently is some grasses which I believe are probably non aquatics of some kind, I've been really trying hard to get them to grow but they wont and they keep dying at the tips. There's plenty of light, ferts, and CO2 but it's just not going anywhere. I'll get pictures. later tonight if possible.

As far as the calculating goes, you go by how much wattage it uses not the equivalent. If we were going off of equivalents I would have something like 20 wpg or something ridiculous like that... It's very easy and very cheap, You can easily swap out bulbs for new cheap ones and it's not a killer if you dont like the effect just take it out and you still have bulbs you can use in your house! :good:

lol, i dont care about the java moss nehow, i just fed the lot of it to my dads fish tank which has a huge plec with a sweet tooth as although it was growing, it looked unhealthy and was ugly too lol.

If you could get the pics it would be excellent though :) Thanks.

Well I can't really find a good picture of the tank before the lighting change... Here's the only one I can find that shows the amazon sword in the back...

And here it is after the lighting... It's been in for about 3 months now and I haven't added nearly as many plants as I'm planning to. The amazon sword had a shoot off of it and It's in the back right.... This is a crappy cell phone shot, i couldn't find my normal digital...
