My Juwel Rio 240

I love the quality of your photographs, what's your secret?

Thanks, i thought they were poor compared to most on here.

I use my girlfirends Sony Cybershot W320, and to be honest for a camera thats under £150 it performs really well. We took it to Sydney a while ago and used it a lot with some great results. With my own camera, a Canon powershot, it won't even focus on the tank, every picture is blurred.

So today i went to my lfs to get some bloodworm and "accidently" brought more fish

Spent ages in there looking around and decided on some celestial pearl danio's. Once added to the tank the Emperor Tetras took an immediate interest, i was a bit nervous, but they soon left them alone.

So on with the pictures

I have now got a new tank on order :good: So will be soon upgrading the Fluval Edge to a Juwel Rio 240.
Its going to be a tight squeeze to get it in, and some furniture will need to be sold, but its well worth it i think.

So today, like a sado, i have done a trial run of what i want it to look like. Brought some Sydeco plants and a rock thing. Decided to stay away from real plants as i just dont think i would enjoy trying to keep them.

Here what im aiming for, the black towel represents the black sand i want, and is the dimension of the tank

More pictures of the tank once it arrives :)

The Edge looks great. Love the LEDs. What are you doing with the edge when you get your new tank?

Going to be putting it up for sale along with a marina 60 stand which is more than capable of holding the weight

I like your practice set up, will look good in the new tank, am looking forward to upgrading my fluval edge!

Cheers bud

I cant wait now, as much as i love the edge, maintainance is harder than it needs to be (due to the small opening), and i just want more fish than the edge could ever handle

Last week the stand arrived, put it all together and did this:

Wanted to get an idea where i would put everything.

Then Tuesday my tank came, so got background in, and started washing the sand:

Yesterday i started to fill it, still dirty despite hours of washing sand:

Then today i topped it up:

More to come soon, water is already a lot lot cleaner

It's going to look great when your water clears :good:

Keith.

looks nice, why not try one or 2 easy care plants in there? Plants like Java fern or Anubias would look good in there.

Thanks guys, might consider plants one day, but for now im going to leave it, about to get real busy with work, so want to make sure i have enough time for the fish without worrying about anything else :good:

No doubt il be asking you for your advice one day in the future when i do go planted
