my husband is one the the gms at one of the larger chain pet stores. there is a very large end cap tank that the upper management is trying to get the store to get rid of because the single tanks are outdated, as they have a 60 foot long wall of tanks all on one filtration system.
the head gm wants to keep it because he likes having the oscers in there instead of in 12by12 cubes, so he is fighting to keep it. the employees hate it as the stores do not provide extra long nets so it is virtualy impossible for the women to catch fish out of it and the men still end of soaked and bitten by teh oscers every time. my husband wants to bring the tank home, and is fighting it out with the other gm for it...though my husband has aprovel from me and our floor is strong enough and renforced as a plus.
my husband thought he had it for a while, now he is not so sure. he only told me about it now because he was trying to get it for a suprise for me for christmas. it is a very large bowfront tank, I am unsure of the exact gallons, it is about 5-6 feet long by 2 feet deep at bow and about 4 feet tall. it comes with stand, hood, lights and filtration system, also red gravel, but I find that a wee bit ugly.
if and I say if he brings this moster home he says a few of the other tanks have to go, or at least I need to reduce the amount of bettas, so I may have a few hm and rosetail boys for cheap to good homes. I would sell the 29 gallon communtiy tank and keep as few of the betta tanks running as possible.
my husband would like it to be a massive fresh water community tank, he does not really go for the one or two big fish.
heres to him managing to drag it home, and oh yes it would be free!
