Patience is definitely a virtue & luckily some more ammonia testing liquid arrived yesterday

How long will you have to do this for? I didn't do a fishless cycle with my fluval edge as I was unaware of it at the time.

Well the idea is to get 0.00ppm of Ammonia & Nitrite after 12 hours, but it's slightly not. It's taking a bit longer, then once it finally hits "double zeros" then it needs to do that for a week, then you're ready for fish.

Ahh I see.
Luckily for me, I did a fish-in cycle and managed to keep all my fish alive except one platy.
I'm now about to do it all again as I'm upgrading to a larger tank as I hate feeling limited to certain fish with the Edge, although it is a lovely tank.

Not tested the water as yet, as I've literally just finished setting it up & running in the last half an hour.

I'll be doing the add & wait method with 5 ppm ammonia.

Sounds good exciting times getting the tank all set up then when u get fish even more excitement haha as I'm sure your aware of!

Yep. Especially after seeing the tank in MA yesterday. They had one with some Cardinal Tetras and a nice deep blue Betta which the missus fell in love with and said I had to get one.
The "Who's bloody tank is it" argument ensued.

Although I was thinking about getting a Betta, plus some Neon/Cardinals anyway, with a couple of Shrimp as doormen
