Oh, woowoo is the name of the fish. Now i understand....

I know it's hard to lose a pet but it's best you don't get too sad. Put it behind you and start with a new fish .

I suppose a lot of people on here are 'professional fish keepers' who have lost hundreds of fish and dont think about it any more.

yeah burry them or flush them, i agree with hoarp001 as well.
i see no one has even asked the question of what sort of fish it was??
if it was somthing like a 14" oscar then yeah i'd be in hysterics too, but if it was a 1 1/2" neon...i wouldnt blink an eyelid as the trade has left them soo feeble

it's tough to lose a fish... i always feel the worst when i lose goldfish. they seem so happy all the time, and they just brighten my day.

at any rate, i do apologize for our non-sympathetic and rather rude board members. but you will find them on any forum. just ignore them, that's the best advice i can give you.

and don't let this discourage you. whitespot is a very difficult disease to treat, and i'm sure that you have treated them to the best of your ability. goldfish are ESPECIALLY difficult to cure of the disease, i've found, for some reason or another. not sure if your fish are goldfish... but if they are, then you've done well to keep any of them alive.

Thank you fish_fetish65. I am still upset, woowoo was a fantail goldfish.

I agree i love goldfish, he was always happy and nibbling my finger, and he ate out of my hand. he had a lovely character and was always swimming from side to side, hence the name woowoo. I have 3 other goldfish, one of which isn't looking to good but im treating him. The other 2 look healthy and happy today.

I have 2 commons and 1 shubunkin. Fingers crossed.

salt is a great healing agent for fant tail goldfish and orandas try adding a teaspoon into your tank "thats enough right?" and it should help heal the fish and shouldnt do any damage to the others "but make sure its rock/sea salt not table salt, as table salt can have chemicals which can harm the fish "so ive heard"

I went out and bought some aquarium salt and have added that to the tank, i had to seperate the fish though as the others were nipping at the sick one. He is looking quite rough, he has black patches on him though i feel so helpless

Sorry to hear about woowoo, what species fish was it?

I wouldnt be too saddened, I lost 5 guppies within a week.

make sure you dont have any cories, they dont like salt!

He was a little fantail goldfish, but he had calico colours he was so cute.
