ATM they're still un-named....

first up is a pretty masked blue girl:

I know, I'm so horrible, taking bright pictures while they're still acclimatizing..... I was just so eager though

next is a yellow-ish plakat female

and a not-so-opaque girly:

When i first opened the box, I was surprised to see 2 big red splotches on her tail they've pretty much disappeared, but there's still a faint pink spot left....

and lastly my new male!

When in non-flare mode, his dorsal fin flops a bit like the pic above, so cute...

 wow what beautiful fish I LOVE that girly on the top...but they are all stunning!

ooooooo..... I'm also SO in lurve with the first girl, but they're all gorgeous!

That blue SD boy and the blue masked girl would make some NIICE babies!

I spend so much time looking at my babies now, lol

I'm seriously considering this, as I still have a 33 gallon sitting empty at the moment...but I already put sand in the bottom though :/

Ok last bump, with a pic of the new guy flaring

Pffft, you could totally breed on sand substrate, it would just be a little harder for the male to see fallen eggs/fry and possibly a tidge harder to clean. Sand is no excuse!

ahh Synirr, I'm really considering breeding them now, whilst I gaze at my empty tank...

Am I able to use my 33 gallon as both a spawning and growout tank until I can sex them?? Or is it too big for them to spawn in?

And what kind of filtration do I need?? Right now there's a fluval 4 plus in there (I was planning on a malawi tank) which I'm sure would blast the babies to kingdom come!

ETA more questions...

Are microworm and BBS cultures all I need? and are these difficult to grow, how long will it take...

I just discovered bcbetta, but they seem to have stopped breeding since a while, also too far and expensive.
