My First Tank - 60L Sand

I have a bamboo shrimp in with my nano fish in my 54 litre - now I'm concerned lol!

I think they are all fairly fast, and my pygmy cories (hopefully!!)

I'm sure it was an isolated incident! The shrimp had never shown any aggression whatsoever before. I think the loach must have swam straight into the shrimp maybe.

Nice tank Elf, love the bogwood you have in there.

Looks like you've got a male and a female platy, Elf - hope you are prepared for a population explosion when they start breeding.

10 neon tetras
5 kuhli loaches
2 red wag platies
2 tiger shrimp
Nice tank but the stocking looks way too much for the tank size.
Also, tiger shrimp have very specific water requirements and can't be kept in any water conditions. The khulis may eat them too.

To follow up on the ghost shrimp eating khuli loaches, I know they eat small fry so if the khulis were small it's quite possible.

It is a little overstocked if you go by the inches and gallons rule/guide. Maybe rehome the shrimp, 4 of the neons and a couple of the khulis if you really want them in your tank. Otherwise you could rehome the shrimp, some neons, all the khulis and get some corys.

When I initially developed this stocking plan AqAdvisor (<-- bit harsh as its a very useful tool for fish keepers) told me I was still under capacity. As for the tiger shrimp, I chose them because I liked the look of them but I could just as easily put "miscellaneous shrimp". If and when I buy some shrimp I'll make sure they're compatible with my tank.

By Advert I suppose you mean Admin?
If that matters to you most, then it's your choice but I just can't imagine any person that ever kept a fish tank would say you would be under capacity with that stock..... It's still a lot of fish for a small tank. You can do it if it's overfiltered, heavily planted and you do 50% water changes weekly for example.
When the stock is high, the smallest of things can tip it over from a healthy into a problematic tank with mass dying.

As for shrimp, check out the neocaridina species like cherry shrimp. There are many colour varieties from them and they are hardier and more forgivable than the caridina species like tiger shrimp.

Good luck.
