my first spawn attempt

Actually most should be freeswimming by day 2, I like to remove dad at that point. Those that aren't freeswimming yet, soon will be so they'll be fine. Your chances of freeswimmming fry being eaten increase the longer he stays.

My plakat male had about 40 free swimmers and a bunch of fallers, I went ahead and left him because he was still retrieving the free swimmers, but I could tell their constant wandering was beginning to urk him. When I woke up they were gone and only helpless fry remained. Only my experience

Yup! Ya gotta sweat for one more day He's probably ready to come out by tomorrow evening, then you can get a good ,long look at the fry

Yeah I figured he was coming out today the little fellas are starting to move around and almost starting to swim straight...

they arent swimming free yet but daddy has given up, I took him out and put him in a bowl floated him for 45 minutes and fed him a bunch of his favorite food (Bio gold) I will feed him again later, if the fry die, I do think he did a great job, I flubbed around too much and made mistakes. I see a few starting to swim....

it's a roller coaster ride on the emotions, that's for sure! One minute excitement, the next fear, the next disappointment, oh wait...wait! then excitement's back then fear again,then finally relief,then a little worry,lmao...I could go on & on Congrats!

more swimmers today...there is some java moss and anachris in there, I also did a little egg layer fry food from tetra and a few BBS. I have another batch hatching now.
