My First Nano!

I wouldn't worry about bristleworms really, they are a good part of the natural eco system in your tank and nothing to worry about unless they become HUGE, or you have a lot of them.
I have seen about 4 so far in my tank, usually at night where they half emerge from their rocks and forage for food.

I am no expert, but I think initially people thought of bristleworms as pests, but now most people leave them be.

Absolutly right Dave, people used to believe they were pests, we now of course know they are an essential part of our cuc and they are cool looking to :good:

I really can't believe the amount of life coming off the LR!
And.... just did another testing.. check it out:

Don't know if anyone has used the Tropic Marin test kits? Really easy to read and do, although works out more expensive than the Salifert's for just Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and PH.

And, got the moonlights fitted:

And spotted two critters at the one time after the moonlights went on last night, a brittle star waving its arms about and a slug just above it(no idea if it's a young sea hare, or just a sea slug):

They have actually been really good. They do work out the same price as Salifert though, I paid £42 for this one which just contains Nitrite, Nitrate, Ammonia and PH.

Slug thing is probably a stomatella (sp) - if it is aboring, drab colour it is probably fine - if a bright colour you might want to think again!

Ok, so I really have to think about CUC. Won't be until next weekend if stats stay good they'll be added, but I've no idea what to go for. Can anyone recommend a list for CUC for a 10 gallon? :D

4 sand turning snails - Nass or ceriths
1 turbo - can always add to this later
1 hermit
1 blood shrimp

Agree with seffie I prefer Nass over ceriths they seem to do a better job in the sand.

Also with Nass they are great whn you add food to the tank as they all pop out of the sand at the same time.

Hmm, can't say I've ever seen any Nass or Cerith snails at all! Only online. Need to do some phoning methinks!
