looked like it may be a young nudibranch...if it goes walkies on occasion i'd be tempted to get it out. If it is sedentary and dont move leave it to see how it develops.
Sooo, what is it exactly? Type of coral, or anemone like I suspected?
Looking at pics, they all seem to have more spikey tentacles.. or as it matures will it get like this?
Nudibrances are not either of those. If they die in the tank, which usually happens as their diets tend to be very specific, they can release toxins with the potential to nuke a tank.
hard to tell from the pics but i know these hitch hikers can be very hard to photograph....hopefully some of the others might have a better idea. If it isn't moving over the rocks i wouldn't worry.
Ok, I'm not quite sure if it's the same thing. It does have similarities, but it appears to have a "stalk" coming from the rock, rather than a body-like base? I'm still convinced it's some sort of anemone due to it's appearance. Makes it harder to photograph due to it being on the corner of the rock where the curve of the glass is!
Hmm, see it's not that thin. All the tentacles are bunched together tightly but are quite fat. Can't see a mouth or anything. Will need to charge up camera batteries, phone's not doing the job on this one at all.
Why do I keep getting horrible looking things? What on earth is this?! I know, some type of bristle worm species but I can't find which one. It's HUGE, it's blue with a green line/tube on it's head. The underside of it is also blue. It's sort of, slate blue. Got the best pics I can, the first one is the length of what it was showing - bearing in mind it was still in the rock, this was only what was out of the rock. Second pic is it's head. You can see the green line/tube like thing in the middle of the top of it's head.
omg what is that!! im really intrested in this whole reef/marine think im thinking of doing a nano setup i would want my just like yours! got me watching this thread!
