Hi all

Im now 25 days in to my fish-less cycle and my last addition of ammonia to 5ppm was processed in 3 days followed by a minimum reading of nitrites, so i once again added ammonia to feed the bacteria. I think ive been pretty lucky so far as the process seems to be running fairly quick. Not sure how much longer its going to take.

Ive got a biorb Life 30ltr (the square type). My stocking ideas are 1x male betta, 4 times male endlers and some cherry shrimp. Im not sure how many cherry shrimp i should go for in that size tank, any ideas? I also have seen some rainbow threadfins in my LFS and really liked the look of them, im not sure how suitable they would be in my size tank.

Hi, is it this-----> http://www.very.co.uk/biorb-life-aquarium-square-30l-black/971507492.prd?browseToken=%2fb%2f100125%2c21793%2fs%2fbestsellers%2c0&trail=12981-100125-21793

If so, you may find most of the advise and opinions you get on here would be against any fish at all and go for a lovely planted shrimp tank. Chilli Rasbora may work, as may Endler Guppy, but the more experienced on here will be able to help you further...

Yeah terry thats the one, i fully understand its not the most popular tank on here. But ive done my research and know that they dont have the facility to process the amont of bioload another tank its size might. Therefore i plan to stock less than another tank it might. By keeping stocking to a minimum i believe the fish will be happy living there. Thats why im thinking just a male betta 3 endlers and some shrimp. Although im not sure how many shrimp would be suitable. Also I cant decide what order to put the fish in the tank. i know the betta is best in last as they get territorial. Other then that im not sure, do shrimps survive newly cycled tanks? are endlers hardy enough in a new tank?

JG

Endlers wre the first fish to go into my 30L straight after my fishless cycle and done very well.. i couldn't possibly comment on the Betta as i've never had one.
Shrimp, generally, do not add much (if anything) to your bio load, so give them a go. Depending on what type you go for, maybe start with half a dozen then work your way up from there :good:

So if im stocking

1 x make Betta
4 x male endlers
5 x cherry shrimp

After cycling should i add the male endlers first along with the shrimps, supplimenting the shrimps with algea discs. then should i wait a while for the betta? or can he go in pretty much afterwards or at the same time. I know Betta's can be territorial but if he goes in at the same time then surely he hasn't got the time to be mark his territory.
Also is it neccasary that i get a moss ball for the shrimps?

Thanks JG
