hello, someone from the golfish forum suggested i drop by for a good scolding on my tropical tanks stocking. hehe, anyone have any suggestions or ideas on my 2 bigger tanks?

:rip:

Okay, was going to leave it just that, but my non evil side got to me :/

55: Okay, don't know how big the silver dollars get but I think they get really big, but like I said, I'm not sure. The ACF will eat a lot of those fish in there, and I don't know about the eel, but considering that it is an eel, I'm thinking it'll eat some fish. Angel fish will probably eat the neons given enough time, if the plecos are common your already in deep crap since I think they get around 18 inches each, I'm surprised your betta is still alive, same with your ADF.

35: Two more plecos, same problem as 55 if they're common, don't know about the cichlids.

10: Ahh. The rule with goldfish, twenty gallons for the first one, ten for every one after that, and even more if their common, which get really big and should probably be put in a pond.

Probably more problems, but I don't know :dunno:

So help me if this is just a flame or something, cause I'll hunt you down and kill you. :D Have a nice day.

Edit: (again) I know Tempestousfury, but I'm in a mood. ;)

Not necessarily ture. As John Maynard Keynes stated (look at sig), "In the long run, we are all dead". In this case, the goldfish will die over time because they don't have enough room to grow out and they will produce so much waste that it will kill them.

Suggestions:
Return both fish
Get a bigger tank

i'd rather return the fish and just make it a trop. tank, but i doubt any pet store is going to want a couple goldfish, and i really don't want to euthenize them, so i'll just try my best to keep them alive and happy.

why are you surprised my betta and adf are still alive? it's a very peacefull tank. the troublemakers you pointed out, the acf and the eel, are both very small so far. the plecos are big huge monsters. i dunno what to do about them.

depending on the type and size of goldfish, youcan make some money on them.

but your 55 gallon is just not good at all! a bunch of wrong kinds of fish. if i were you i would get rid of a bunch of them.

cool, i'll try and see if discount pets will take them. im sure meijer or wal-mart wont. If i get rid of them and turn it into a tropical, how long should i wait before i add fish based on how long it has been going, (6 days w/ goldfish and decor. from the 55).

I wouldn't be so sure about Walmart. My Walmart, I know, would gladly take on fish (so long as they don't have to pay for them)... not that I'd EVER trust my fish in the hands of my Walmart employees!
