This is Shimmer, my newest one.He is a half-moon. He loves attention and gets so happy when you come to his tank. He will build bubble nests for you lol

This is Old Blue. He was my first Betta. He is a Veiltail and he is the most chillax betta I have ever seen.

This is Crown, my crowntail. The first pic is before he was ill. The second is how he looks now, three days into treatment and after doing a complete turnaround from near death.

I love your red ct. I'm thinking of a ct or veil tail for my next boy. Not sure which to go for yet.

Lovely Bettas.

Why don't you have heaters or filters in your tanks? The tanks are very bare as well, Bettas like plants to hide and rest in.

I never have. I dunno, I guess that was just how I always raised my bettas. I am about to get some bigger tanks, with heaters as I have had some unfortunate events happen. Crown, the red Ct died his afternoon, and I had lost a betta about 2 weeks ago. The first bettas I ever had a problem with and I treat them all the same. The other two are healthy. I don't know if I messed up somewhere or if I am having some bad luck.

Crowntails are very flare-happy. Crown was a trip. he loved to flare at people and he was such an active boy...

I recommend you get them a filter each and a heater :good:

I will definatly get them heaters as the winter months are coming up. Its always ten degrees hotter in the upstairs part of my house so the tanks they are in are consistently at 74-76 degree without the heater. TBH, I will probably not put a filter in Blue's tank, as the filter scared him and it took a week to get him right. I do 50% water changes on my tank every other day and I only feed them every other day. I do monitor ammonia levels as the tanks are unfiltered. I am also planning to upgrade Shimmer to my larger tank (10 us gallon), as I would like to get him some "women" lol. I am not going to alter Blues habitat, with the exception of heating his tank in the winter months due to the fact that he is old, and kinda set in his ways. I would have for an environment change to stress him as he is a very happy, bubble blowing active fish at the moment.

That seems sensible enough then. Just need to get them a hidey hole :)

Is it weird that blue didn't like the plant I had in there when I got him? I haven't tried a plant with Shimmer yet, but I was definatly going to plant the 10 gallon when I move him. I am still doing work on his potential breeding grounds. (I am still learning on Bettas, I seem to be better with my livebearers)

I'm no expert either. I cave might be good for the boy who doesn't like plants. Zorro loves both plants and his caves to rest in.

Of course you do. I look forward to seeing your new planted tank.
I'm excited about setting it up. Being is that I used it as a quarantine I need to go through extreme sterilization, and I also need to research how to care for real plants, as I would like this to be a true planted tank. I still got some ways to go, but I am so excited. Maybe in a few months I will have some betta fry pics. The only thing I have bred successfully is my platy (which isnt hard lol) and I have a tank full of platy/swordtail hybrids. Thank you so much for the advice. I think I am going to hold off on getting another betta, as I am heartbroken about the two I lost these past couple of weeks. I am going to concentrate on getting my new tank set up for shimmer.

I'd treat with a whitespot treatment tbh. My sister had an outbreak and treated and they're all gone. It's such a shame you lost your CT red. Sometimes stress when they first come to you can lower their immune system leaving them vulnerable to allsorts. My Betta was at deaths door for the first part of the week when he came to me. Just laying there on the gravel not eating. Then he got fin rot as a result. He's all better now thank god.

Indian Almond leaf is very good and has healing properties in it. One in their tanks would be a good idea.
