My Bn's Arrived Safely....

Eventually the male will convince an eggy female to go into the cave, and spawn. They don't act like pairs in the sense that cichlids or other fish do, if the male is hiding in the cave fanning you probably have eggs.

Yes!.... They are in a tank outside, but no..... I've never seen this before.... the tank is full of mosquito larvae swimming around with the fish...... Don't they eat any live foods??? or are there just so many that they've had their fill???....

It worries me though that the (big) male has selected the smallest container to take his day refuge in.... I cannot imagine that he'll want to breed in this??.. He virtually has to reverse out the dome to get out....

As it is with many other fish.... will a water change also induce spawning activity??

This is the ornament Mr. Big Chose as home

When he is at home….. his tail sticks out this much….. so, I doubt if he’ll choose this as his breeding spot.

Notice the algae below the gravel level…. I assume this is what all the glass would’ve looked like if I had no BN’s in there??

They do seem to like tight quarters Lud, I wouldn't be surprised if he choses that as a spawning site.

He seems to be spending most of his time in there....(whilst the others are frolicking around outside) If there are any eggs in there...... would he ever leave the nest and would definite "fanning" movements be seen???..... His head is sticking out, and he is laying still, so I assume that there is still nothing, but he very seldom comes out of there???

Pretty normal, I rarely see the entire body of my male. For all I know he might be only half a fish!

I just chucked 3 slices of Apple and 3 slices of Banana into their tank..... Should I rather remove it or is there an odd chance that they might like it???
