We took her in today to get her feather cyst removed.

They put a cone on her and when we removed it there was tape all stuck to her feathers.... I guess trying to remove it stressed her out too much and she died about ten minutes later. The vet didn't do a good job and they said she lost a lot of blood and were very brief with my mom. I am very upset with my vet.

Birds are very fragile. I suppose that the up side would be that you have a vet that would even give it a go to work on your bird. Most won't...
I'm sorry that you lost yours - they are wonderful friends and add a lot to our lives.

Auratus, I understand why you'd be upset. I am sorry the bird died. Are you going to contact your vet and ask what happened?

Ya I'm gonna ask them why they friggin taped the collar to the birds feathers!

i'm so sorry for your loss
these things happen so suddenly and unexpectedly
most of us cling to the illusion that our feathered/fuzzy/finned friends will live forever
i'm going to hug all of my babies extra tight tonight and give my budgie an extra kiss from you in memory of your bird

I lost two birds this morning, so I know how you feel :-( I hope you find out what caused it. Was the blood from the cyst or from pulling the tape? If it was the tape, maybe a pin feather was pulled? I'm sorry for your loss, it's always hard, but just feel good knowing that you provided a good, loving home for you bird...that's more than a lot of pets get.

Sorry about your loss.
I would definitely go and see the vet and find out what happened and the obvious question of why they used tape.
You have my deepest sympathy. But like Sorrell said you must not beat yourself up over this you gave the bird a happy life whilst you had it.
All the best
Kaz

That is so sad.

And, that is so wrong of the vet to be so short. They should have shown you more compassion than they did.

My condolences to you... :(

sorry to hear about your loss

i also lost my two birds, they got stung to death by some bee/wasp what have hives in our backyard

aww what a horrible thing, I am really sorry you lost your bird. I have a quaker parrot and wouldnt know what id do if he died. What kind of bird was he?if he was small then the blood loss could have got him, he could have been too weak..poor thing. sorry again :-(

thats horrible!
did you go outside with that shooting raid and get some revenge? :<

i went outside, poured some lawn mower fuels in the hive infested trees and ran inside :hyper: lucky i didn't get stung!!!

*apparently bees/wasp absolutly hate fuel! i'll have to wait and see the effect

my uncle is a tough guy but he screams like a girl when he sees a bee
his shed had a hole in the wall and their was a huge wasps nest inside
so my uncle like a big dummy kicked the wall and all of a sudden like 10 full grown men come running around the side of the shed heading for the house with terror in their eyes, followed by a cloud of bees!
so my father snuck out a few hours later and stuck an old shop vaccume down the hole, turned it on and left it there
it vaccumed ALL of the bees out (not one remaining) then he filled the hole with bee raid (just to be safe) and patched it up
my uncle wannted to set the vaccume on fire
(whats with me and my family and solving everything with fire? :dunno: i just finished saying in a rescent post that i was gunna go after a sales lady with a flame thrower  )
i never did see what they did with the bees  .........

oopsies,
i just highjacked this post
:rip: little bird
i hope you got some justice served for him auratus
