I can't stand seeing all the betta fish inside the tiny bubbles at the store, and then everyone just feels like they have to flick/tap on the glass. It's just plain cruel and it shouldn't be like that. Bettas are some of the smartest fish in the world. They can remember things like a dog, you can teach them tricks, yet they're still treated like they're dumber than your average fish. A betta fish scientist/examiner spent 20 years studying betta fish 24/7 and he taught his to go to bed whenever he said "Nighty Night" He taught his to eat when he tapped on the side. He spent hours with his betta fish and it learned things like a normal dog or cat. They aren't just some other fish, they're really special and should be treated as such. I'm so sorry for your loss, I know the feeling.
