Well im so excited, I finally got my chance to buy myself a betta, after cloning its filter media and getting its tank ready etc, today was the day :D

Alot of the poor betta's looked so ill at my LFS or some of them their fins were ripped to shreds, there were only two that looked healthy enough to buy. The tiny containers there kept in doesnt help either id imagine! they could barely move in there!

Anyway me and my mum both agreed the one I bought looked great and is very active, so I bought him. It was a toss up between a blue/red one or the one I bought which is all red with a two tone effect when he turns.

He must be in heaven right now being moved from his tiny cup where he could barely turn around, to his new 14 US gallon tank with plants, wood cave etc :D

Ive tried to get some good photos but I haven't got many because I didnt want to stress him out anymore and my phone takes rubbish photos anyway:

All comment and advice very appreciated! :D

Sidenote: Also wheres the best place to buy only the biogold betta pellets? And could someone confirm the type of betta he is?

he is a lovely veiltail :) He does look happy! Can't help you on where to buy the pellets as I am in the UK - however, you can buy another type of betta pellet on ebay from Thailand, they are black, called Sayuri i think - mine love them! Cheap too :)

Wow what a lucky boy.....he'll be in seventh heaven in that lovely tank :good:

He looks so amazing in that tank, I love the colour scheme! You've given him such a lovely home.

:good:

Thanks for the comments guys and gals! :D Very appreciated, have just come back from the cinema and he looks right at home now, holding his fins high, prancing about all around his new home, and is quite a fiesty character flaring at me watching him in the tank :p

Have managed to get some better photos aswell now he's more adventurous in his new home, you can see his two tone colouring much clearer :D

Wow, he's gorgeous. I love his two-toned colouring. I have to agree in that he must be in seventh heaven in your tank. Congrats on rescuing him from that tiny cup!

Much better pics....he's looking gorgeous and great to see his fins looking so intact, considering where he came from :good:

Im hoping he'll make a bubble nest for me, that'll be great to see! :D Although I know some bettas dont bother making em so we shall have to wait and see. I could sit and watch this little guy for hours haha

Good luck with your betta.

-looks around and whispers-

You'll find the hobby of "bettakeeping" very addicting, very soon!

-_- I think your betta is related to Berlin o_O

Ah well,

Good luck :p

Personally I would say he's a spade tail, spade tails are pretty uncommon now and his tail is going to such a point, I would say on the limited ST classification there is, he counts as one!
modaz or netty may know better, but Im pretty certain
