for all of you saying its brackish i know... he is in 1.005 saltanity (i think...)

also iv neevr had him eat live fish, only alge waffers and brime shrimp.

Oh my God, I have one of these guys! They're so cool. Mine is only about six inches long at this point, and he lives in the tank with my female bettas. Mine eats flakes and frozen brine shrimp. The funny thing is, my cory absolutely adores him! The cory sleeps snuggled up against the dragonfish's head, and there's not a single time that I've looked in my tank when the cory and dragonfish haven't been within an inch of one-another
I have one female betta who keeps thinking the poor dragonfish's tail is food whenever the rest of him is hidden. She's obviously not showing aggression... but when he'd hiding in his cave with his tail sticking out sometimes she gives him a little tentative nip, like she's trying to figure out if that's a tail or a really big fish flake :D
He doesn't even flinch most of the time and she has never actually bitten hard enough to leave a mark, so I don't see the need to remove her from the tank...

6 inches, little smaller then mine but how did you get him to eat flakes...? also does your put his head outa the water mine does that its funny i have to get a piture of that also like my new personal photo?

Mine just learned to eat flakes on his own... he waits until they sink and then sucks them off the bottom. He doesn't stick his head up out of the water, but he swims backwards a lot, which is fun to watch :p
