Hard to believe this guy ate a Pleco 2/3 it’s size…

I think it's a Quebecois thing. I've never seen it in culturally impoverished places.

Now that I'm diabetic, I don't think I could drink it. I fear scurvy this winter.

It really comes from our early British and French influences...

It's made from rye, wheat, fir tree shoots, dandelions, and hops in addition of spruce tips and often a "little" shot of gin was dropped adventitiously in the mix :).

It makes it a really flammable product. Our SAQ has a couple options But they are on the sugar side, The real one was a very strong stuff when used in our old forts during winter the soldiers would start fires with it.

A good one is strong enough to give some heat in the stomach and clear the respiratory system.

Like a good floor cleaner.

to quote ( Ule Gibbons ) pardon the phonetic spelling... " Pine Trees... many parts are edible" ... I never knew who that was, but I remember the cereal commercial they quoted him...
Euell Theophilus Gibbons . Early health food advocate and outdoorsman . My heart soared like an eagle to find him remembered on The Great TFF Forum ,

I’m not a fan of any pet that bites the hand that feeds it… I took care of a buddy’s son’s snake, while he was in treatment, and that thing tried to bite me, every time I fed it ( I know… ( not the momma ) but it made me dislike snakes even more… it would have been fine if it had been handled more, but I have to assume it wasn’t taken care of well previously… I couldn’t wait for the kid to take the snake back…

Well, I've seen snakeheads eat fish of almost their own size, same goes for my bulldog splitfins (Alloophorus robustus) and a cichild that ate his own sibling. So yes, there are more species that don't have a problem eating other well sized fish.
