My Aquarium

I bought it from Pets at Home in norwich..., but im sure you could goto the clear seal website or try ebay :)

The test strips don't give an accurate reading, try and get the test that uses drops. I agree, PH down does not work very well and you would have to use it for every water change, and PH swings are dangerous for your fish.

If your ph out of your tap is that high you can add a piece of driftwood to your tank or peat moss in your filter would lower it a bit, but I would bet that your test strips are wrong.

the tank has been running for nearly 3 weeks... isn't there some sort of rock that could bring down the pH. not too confident about putting things in filters...

put some bog wood in your tank or you can buy a pair of tights put some peat in the tights about a tennis ball size rinse the the peat so water runs clear through the peat and put it in your filter or tank what ever you prefer and bobs your uncle your ph will drop

cheers dane

you can but like i say you will have to rinse it really well put it down first then put your gravel over it i have done this in my breeding tank it will tann your water a bit

cheers dane

I think i might buy bits of bogwood to bring down the pH, small bits, then after i added 1 bit test the pH and see if it needs more bogwood in there etc... and make a lil hiding place :) but before i do, i'll get a proper water test kit, just so i can double check etc...

hmm some of my guppies are at the bottom of the tank resting on the substrate, sometimes breathing heavily sometimes not?
anyone know why?

well i havent got a air pump yet. but other then that how else is air supposed to get in the tank, unless I leave the hood off.
