Just thought I would share my new additions. Today I get home and wala! A fish box on my door step. And inside.......

Apistogramma nijsseni (pair)
Apistogramma agassizi Red Tail (trio)
Apistogramma Cacatuoides Triple Red (pair)
Apistogramma Cacatuoides Orange Flash (pair)
Apistogramma baenschi (2-pair)

Needless to say it was like christmas in June. :D As soon as they settle in I will try and get a few good pics to share. I must say they are NICE!
If anyone is intrested:
Soft Water Dwarf Cichlids
Very Good quality fish. Honest and a pleasure to deal with. Not a single glitch I would recommend.

Congratulations! I love Dave Soares Fish! I set up another member with his services and they fish are beautiful! What size tanks are you putting them in?

They are doing GREAT. Yes I do hope to breed them if i'm lucky enough.
They were set up as follows:

Apistogramma nijsseni (pair)
20 long with sponge filter. Sandy bottom for substrate
drift wood, small clay pots, anubias, java moss, java fern, micro sword and some crypt sp. Heavly planted!
There is 1 sterbai cory cat, and a clown loach that is just working. Once he is done he will move on to next tank.

Apistogramma Cacatuoides Triple Red (pair)
15 gal. with sponge filter. Sandy bottom.
drift wood, small clay pots, anubias, corkscrew val. dwarf val., java moss, dwarf lilly(s). Heavly planted!
1 small cory tankmate.

Apistogramma agassizi Red Tail (trio)
20 long with sponge filter. Sandy bottom
drift wood, clay pots, anubias, amozon swords (small) crpyt. sp., java moss TONS!
Heavly planted!
Apistogramma Cacatuoides Orange Flash (pair)
10 gal, sponge filter, sandy bottom
drift wood, more drift wood, anubias, micro sword, some other bushy plant (red) ?

Apistogramma baenschi (2-pair)
20 long sponge filter, sandy bottom
lots of drift wood with anubias stuck to it. 4 diff sp. of anubias. several tall plants which I am drawing a total blank on name.
1 small cory cat as tank mate.

I have a few 10 gal on stand by incase.......

What stinks is now at water changes it's, 6 tanks soft water for Apistos. And 1,2,3,4,.......59 for Victorian cichlids. Had to cut back on the africans. :byebye:
Was part of deal with the other half if I got more fish. Though she didn't say how many more I could get. LOL   Aqua-Bid here I come........ :flex:

Just a suggestion: You maight want to think about upping the duos to trios; for the health of the lone females. When there is only one to get all of the male's attention, the female seems to have a shorter lifespan.

Danny, did you just say you had 6 apisto tanks and 59 african tanks?

Cos that makes you the MTS King!!!!!!

the tank set ups sound great
hows about get more corys as corydoras are schooling fish, 5/6 could go into a 20 gal, but the Apistos do get abit territorial when breeding and have been known to kill those little nosey corys

I got several other cory cays that will be added. I didn't want to overwhelm the new guys. The sterbai cory I got 6 that will be together. There are 6 Panda cories which will reside together. I got 4 that where bought in Miami that are bronze color with a bright orange stripe down the side from gill to tail. Kool cory yet I forgot they name sorry :( .
Several common cories that kinda just live together in 30 long. I say there is at least 18 diff. that will be added to apisto tanks. They make GREAT tank mates/clean up crew. LOL I really don't want to add / keep to many fish with them that way breeding is not interfered with. That I will play by fin.

In the past I tried the trio way and they didn't seem to get along with the third one. There was always the outcast. This time around I set them up in tanks that are COVERED with vegitation and hidding places. So far the only ones fighting are they nijsseni. Which in the past has been the same case. O, the other day I added several clams to there tanks which made an interesting addition. Not to mention the benefits of the clams stirring up the sand.

The Orange Flash have claimed a pot and are doing there thang. I predict they will be first to spawn. :hyper: Followed by nijsseni. Which as we speak I have added 5 more cories to there tank. The clown loach has about finished his duties and is about ready to move on. Though, he has found refuge INSIDE the sponge filter so I may just leave him in that tank. He is the smallest little loach. A runt because he refuses to grow. He is all belly and fins. LOL

I got a few new plants which I will propogate today and add to there tanks. Also they have been getting baby brine and they seem to love it. I feed that to other fry as well and the Apistos. seem to like it better than the regular brine. Where I am located the selection of live foods is limited yet, all LFS sell alot of frozen products.

Before I forget I think I got a plan to convince the other half into allowing more tanks. Got the tanks just need the space. Think 65 is alot.   before my divorce I had 102 set up and running. My garage was no longer a garage. Wall to wall tanks. I think there is and old pic in my profile. ??? I still got about 60-70 tanks, blower, pumps, heaters, and so on stored waiting for the go ahead. :hyper: :hey:. Slowly but shurely...... Hey, I can hope can't I?
