Apisto Gendering

Okay so these two had their first batch a fry about a month ago, and today I moved the fry to their own 29 gallon to grow out. I had taken out the male thinking he might’ve eaten the fry and just put him back in once the fry were air lifted.

And it’s the most energetic I’ve seen the female. She’s circling him, nipping his sides, and slapping him in the face with her tail while he does the vibrate-stroke-seduction-dance. Is this…. Is this normal courting behavior for two apistos that haven’t seen each other in a month???
